Pre Fall Fashion 2015

Fall is upon us, and I guess it has been for a while, but nevertheless that means Pre-Fall is also upon us and I’ve had the chance to look through some of the most recent shows a la style.com (click on the pictures to go there) and decided to just quickly upload my favorites and the designs and designers I’ll be taking some inspiration from this winter. Can I even do that? Mix up the seasons?? According to me absolutely I can because I also wear sweaters during the summer.

Rodebjer Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Tomas Maier

I won’t lie, I was picky with this season, but these three looks instantly snatched my attention. They are all effortless and transfer so easily into an everyday wardrobe, which is always something I look for since as much as I’d love to wear anything and everything Karl Lagerfeld has ever dreamt up, I just don’t have the funds nor ingenuity to re-create them. So starting from left to right, we have a lovely pink number from Rodebjer. The simplicity of this one is really what caught me. In this new age of “rompers” this is one of the few I’d like to be wearing right now. The second is Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, and what I love most about this look (besides the model’s brows) are the details. Everything from the pleating on the pants to that to-die-for pattern on the jacket just scream thought out. And last but not least is my absolute favorite look of the Pre-Fall season, which comes from Tomas Maier. This look emulates one of my fashion mantras which is, “Did she just wake up or did she spend hours getting ready?” Point is, you can all expect a post very soon on this look re-created.

Thanks again for reading and I hope you enjoyed, feel free to share and comment xx.

Hipster? Mainstream?

Oh man is this post going to be a short burst of midnight fun. If there is one thing that I have a strong opinion on, its this whole concept of hipster and mainstream stereotyping. We’ve all been in a situation where someone is going on and on about a band that has 2 views on youtube and how when the band makes it big everyone needs to remember they knew about them first. And then, there will be another person there, who will be very sarcastic about how nobody cares if they knew about that person first or not and there is no need to be a hipster. Right? Sound familiar? If not, count your blessings.

Now, where do I stand on this? It’s pretty simple. I think people need to be whoever they are. We’ll use the previous example. The person may enjoy their unknown band, that is perfectly fine. The other person may enjoy their very commonly played song. Everyone is individual and when it becomes an issue is when people are rude about it. The “hipster” cannot be rude to the person who enjoys “mainstream” music and the other way around. Feel free to like whatever you like and stay true to who you are. It doesn’t matter if you like something someone doesn’t.

This carries beyond music obviously. Things like fashion. I say that if you like what you are wearing, then go for it and rock it and wear it with pride. (Does that mean i’ll agree with your socks and sandals? No, but I won’t be rude about it and if you like it then why do you care what I think?)

So essentially what I’m saying is be who you are and if you are a wonderful mix of everything then fabulous. If you only like music you haven’t heard thousands of times, good for you! If you like to listen to the music all the radios are playing than that is so great. But be respectful of everyone the way you want them to be to you.

Have a good day everyone, enjoy the short rant! xx

Monthly Inspiration

Hey guys! So with school starting I haven’t had much time to make many posts on here and I was having some trouble thinking of what to come up with when I realized that one of my favorite things to do is look for inspiration. I am always on the internet looking for new blogs to follow or new outfit ideas, etc. So I thought that I’d do one of these every month to share with you all what I have found. Enjoy!

My fashion inspiration for this month (but also always because she is literally amazing) is IDRESSMSELFF or Prettsickly as she is known on instagram. Her style is so unique and I love to take inspiration from her style. Also her dog is adorable. Click the pictures to head over to her blog. (All pictures belong to her.)

My food inspiration this month is Izzy from commoncomfort. She is so amazing and so young and her food pictures are amazing. Whenever I am in the mood to have something very healthy and colorful I always look at her instagram (minimalmeals) or go to her blog. Click the pictures to head over to her blog. And last but not least is my workout inspiration for the month which goes to Amanda Bisk. She used to be a pole vaulter and now does quite a bit of yoga. She is so strong and healthy and I love to look through her instagram for inspiration. Click the pictures to head over to her blog. (All pictures belong to her.)

3 back to school outfits

Hey guys! Schools starts next week for me and I thought I’d go ahead and share some outfits that I plan on wearing and hopefully you can draw some inspiration from them. And yes, these should all pass as dress code if you were worried about those surprisingly fast hall monitors. Hope you enjoy xx.

First one is a super simple and casual outfit. Top is from h&m and jeans are from old navy. Not sure about the shoes.

Next is a simple sweater from pacsun with a skirt from rue 21 and the shoes are doc martens.

I saved my favorite for last. (Maybe because its all black?) A simple top with an unknown origin tucked into some baggy super comfortable sweats from pac sun. And then I just went with the same boots from the first outfit.

Good luck starting the school year everyone, I know its hard but with a cup of coffee and expert texting in class skills you will make it through.

Cute Coffee Shops

One of my many dreams happens to be opening a coffee shop with my cousin. I love it. I love the smell, I love the taste, and I love how “white girls” and everyone else in the world can come together around a cup of coffee. So recently, when I went to Jackson Hole, my cousin and I stumbled upon a coffee shop and instantly fell in love. It may have taken us a good amount of time to actually figure out how to say the name of the place, but Persephone Bakery is my ultimate new favorite coffee shop. Ever. Too bad it’s states away right? Everything from the decor to the staff to the actual coffee itself, I never wanted to leave. If you’re ever in Jackson Hole, this is the first place you need to go.

Introduction

I googled how to write an intro post on a blog and I got lots of bogus answers that would have made me sound like a door-to-door salesman. So I am just going to wing it.

My name is Mia, and I am 16 years old and will be going into my junior year of high school. I am 50% chilean on my mother’s side and have taken three years of Spanish and can still only barely say a sentence or two. I live in Utah where it’s either melting-your-flesh hot or freezing cold and I am 300% ready to leave Utah as soon as I can for that reason. I love my friends and my family and my team. I do competitive cheerleading and a lot of my time goes to that but it’s one of the most fulfilling things that I do so it’s not a sacrifice.

Why the name guavha? Because I have never tried an actual guava and also the name guava is taken everywhere so I added an h. Exciting right? The struggle of finding a username these days will be the death of me.

Now to the important part, what will this blog be? This blog will be basically a diary and a place where I post pictures and updates. You can expect posts about clothing, school, music, and general rants. I don’t have a specific style or vibe about myself, I am under the belief that individuality is extremely important and underrated these days. Being relaxed is the way I like to be and just being happy is my favorite past time.

Can’t wait to start posting, thanks for stopping by. xx
